The Role: Data Analyst (Full-time, permanent)
The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the Impact & Evaluation team with data management and analysis, in addition to data quality and data governance activities. In support of our goal to be a data driven organization, this role is critical to improve and enhance the utilization of data and analytical tools for strategic decision making at all levels of the organization. This role has an ability to support and translate end-user needs into meaningful insights and related data products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and analyze large complex datasets to provide meaningful insights and support data-driven decision making across the organization
- Work collaboratively with the Impact & Evaluation team to identify end-user needs and translate them into relevant data products and insights
- Develop and maintain databases, ensuring data security and privacy requirements are met
- Support quality improvement tasks, including data audits and related database oversight tasks
- Provide expertise in modern database and information system technologies, managing back-end tasks and extracting data from various sources
- Use software and programming tools to facilitate data analysis and data visualization (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- Communicate results and insights effectively through oral and written reports, including visualization of data and relevant statistics
- Stay up to date with new data analytics tools and methodologies, and apply them to support strategic decision making
- Ensure compliance with information management requirements from accrediting and licensing bodies
- Other related duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills Expectations
- Degree or relevant course work in Data Science, Data Analysis, Research Methods, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or equivalent. Will consider a degree in Human Services with relevant experience and training in data analysis.
- Minimum of 2 years related experience with managing and working with databases and large complex datasets (data extraction, cleaning, merging, analysis).
- Experience working with both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Demonstrated high proficiency in Excel such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and more.
- Experience with Office 365 and SharePoint including building lists, libraries, and workflows.
- Knowledge and experience in managing data through the whole data cycle (supporting data collection, completing data pulls, data cleaning, data analysis, extracting findings, knowledge translation).
- Experience or knowledge of privacy requirements, data security measures, and related data governance issues.
- Positive, patient attitude with strong interpersonal skills to allow for effective communication with different audiences.
- Able to provide a clear Criminal Record check with vulnerable sector search and Child Intervention Record Check.
Reporting Relationship
This position directly reports to their Impact and Evaluation Supervisor.
