About the Team

Purpose of the Role:

A Cybersecurity Analyst specializing in Microsoft Security is responsible for protecting Nicola Wealth's systems, networks, and endpoints from cyber threats. This role involves monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data.

This role will operate on a hybrid working model and be based in either Vancouver or Toronto.

Core Responsibilities:

• Continuously monitor Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, network, servers, endpoint and other for security incidents and events.
• Investigate and respond to security breaches and incidents in real-time, specifically within Microsoft platforms.
• Deploy and manage Microsoft security tools such as Microsoft Defender (Endpoint, Cloud, Cloud App), Purview and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (SOC2, NIST, CIS) by implementing and maintaining security policies and procedures.
• Stay updated on the latest cyber threats and trends, particularly those targeting Microsoft technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on Microsoft security solutions.
• Degree or Diploma Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or a related field.
• Relevant certifications are a plus:
  • Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer
  • Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CEH
• Proficiency in Microsoft security tools and technologies, including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Cloud, Cloud App, Sentinel, Purview, and other Microsoft solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A willingness to learn new skills and get more education as needed.

This position comes with a competitive base salary hiring range of $78,000-$108,000 dependent on experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity.
