Wood is currently looking for a Pipeline Stress Engineer to join our VDN office in Calgary on a contract basis. As an experienced stress engineer, you will be responsible for a variety of engineering tasks and projects. You will evaluate engineered systems for mechanical integrity and compliance with applicable standards and provide technical recommendations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will include:
Perform linear and nonlinear stress analysis of buried and above ground pipelines
Proficiency in applying codes and standards related to the design and operation of oil and gas pipeline systems, in particular CSA Z662 and ASME B31.4&8
Prepare document results and write technical reports
Review the work of other team members for accuracy and completeness
Prepare technical calculations for various aspects of pipeline analysis such as lateral buckling, buoyancy, etc.
Assist in the preparation of execution plans and development of technical guidelines
Review client technical specifications and requirements to ensure compliance
Coordinate with the client to receive the required input data and relevant information
Undertake technical reviews of documents prepared by the team

Expected:
The ideal candidate for this role must possess strong knowledge and skills in applying codes and standards related to the design and operation of oil and gas pipeline systems
Minimum of 10 years' experience using stress analysis software
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, postgraduate degree is strongly preferred
Programming experience using software such as MatLab, Python, and FORTRAN
Strong multi-tasking, time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Demonstrated competency in verbal and written technical communication in English
