Purpose of the position
To provide final accounting to shipments imported into Canada across various modes of transportation, paying close attention to the rules and regulations as set out in the Customs Act. This position reports to the National Customs Manager or Customs Brokerage Manager under general supervision.
Key Tasks
- Manage a set list of assigned accounts and provide back up assistance to other accounts when deemed necessary.
- Set up and release of assigned account shipments.
- Track and trace incoming shipments.
- Provide final accounting to CBSA for a set list of assigned accounts.
- Maintain client databases.
- Provide advice to and educate clients on importing goods into Canada.
- Assisting the Compliance Team with certain tasks/services that are offered.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, such as the Code of Conduct, assigned work schedules, and attendance requirements.
- Identify tasks that require special handling, recommend process improvements and implement resolutions within assigned scope of responsibility.
- Provide input at team briefings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
