Customer Service Sales

Summary

Slegg Building Materials is seeking a Full-Time Customer Service Sales team member. The shifts are Tuesday - Saturday. The wage range is $20.50 - $25.00 per hour.

The Responsibilities

• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers
• Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities
• Greet and assist customers with purchases at the customer service desk
• Follow up and maintenance with sales orders
• Process customer returns
• Provide suggestions and recommendations on building products and materials
• General housekeeping duties and stocking of merchandise
• Maintain product displays on the selling floor
• Assist in keeping product signage/pricing accurate
• Answer phones
• Keep your desk area clean and presentable
• Be a source of knowledge and willing to learn about new building materials such as Lumber, Roofing, Siding, Insulation, Drywall, Hardware, Retaining Walls, Pavers, Concrete, etc.
• Respect and obey safety policies and procedures in our yard
• Communicate stock issues to ensure inventory integrity
• Build strong customer relationships through reliable callbacks, follow-up on deliveries, and awareness of project timeline to foresee material needs
• Other duties as assigned by management

The Requirements

• Broad knowledge of building supplies and home improvement products is an asset
• Superior customer service skills
• Knowledge of Excel is an asset
• Sales experience is an asset
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Available to work flexible hours including weekends
• Physical requirements include:
  o Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs
• A positive can-do attitude is essential!
