About the Role

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is seeking a strategic and highly motivated individual to join our Customer & Distribution Management (CDM) Team in Canada. Reporting directly to the Head of Customer and Distribution Management in Canada you will be responsible for supporting the delivery and execution of strategic development plans with our target customer and broker partners. The key to your success in this role is your ability to aggregate and analyze data to tell a story and identify trends, build relationships and work collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders across the business including Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Risk Engineering Services, Finance and Legal to deliver maximum results and benefits to the business.

The primary responsibilities of the role are:

  • Assists with the design and execution of a comprehensive customer and distribution strategy in North America.
  • Assists in the mining and delivery of data/analytics that will support the goals of Corporate Solutions Canada.
  • Develops network across brokers and clients that will support the delivery of the best possible solutions to clients via brokers.
  • Support in the execution and management of market engagement activities, including Swiss Re Corporate Solutions hosted events.
  • Assist in the development and support in the execution of effective broker and client action plans, including pipelining, cross selling, profit improvements and engagement activities.
  • Work across all internal functions; including Underwriting, Risk Engineering Services, Claims, Finance and Governance.
  • Ability to understand and represent the full range of Corporate Solutions products and solutions (property, special lines, financial and professional, and innovative strategic solutions) to both clients and brokers when needed.
  • Full understanding and support of distribution service agreements, key broker and client engagement plans and other CDM initiatives.

About the Team

The Canadian Customer & Distribution Management (CDM) team is responsible for the execution of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' approach and excellence in customer and distribution practices to effectively support the region's strategic objectives through our key clients and broker trading partners.


About You

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in the insurance and/or financial services industry or extended graduate program equivalent.
  • Track record of successful customer/distribution engagement.
  • Experience working with key stakeholders (corporate risk managers, brokers, insurance professionals).
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and/or risk management.
  • Understanding of the Canada corporate insurance space (customer and distribution).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and focus on execution.
  • Client-centric.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Strong networking and influencing skills.
  • Agile team player including ability to work well with teams in multiple locations and business units, across organizational boundaries.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills internally in a matrix environment.

Technical skills

  • Solid understanding of key insurance lines and non-traditional solutions.
  • Excellent understanding of insurance market, including key competitors, distribution channels, market trends and dynamics.
  • Strong relationship management, marketing and sales skills.
  • Understanding of corporate finance and capital markets.
  • Intimate knowledge of data/analytical tools/platforms, such as:
    • Excel (including data mining).
    • Powerpoint.
    • Salesforce or other CRM system.
    • Microsoft Teams.
    • Microsoft SharePoint.
