Job description

Montreal, QC rapidly growing CRO drug testing research organization is looking for a Business Development Manager (5 to 10 years' experience) to advance their already very successful R&D services. The company prides itself on maintaining a family atmosphere and providing excellent working conditions, a competitive compensation structure, and benefit coverage. Compensation based on experience. Position is on site. Also involves travel. Relocation across Canada covered. Reports to a VP.

NB - This position focuses on selling services, not products.

Salary commensurate with level of experience. Not a role for new grads.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Business development, meeting set targets within this industry.
  2. Expanding the client base as well as managing and growing existing accounts.
  3. Leveraging personal industry contacts to enable business, new leads, and growth.
  4. Working together with the scientific team to determine the appropriateness of new opportunities.
  5. Give presentations to clients on site or at trade shows.
  6. Selling services, not products.
  7. Preparing proposals, contacts.
  8. Remaining highly visible to clients and monitoring customer satisfaction.
  9. Efficient use of contact CRMs, communications, letters, emails.

REQUIREMENTS :

  1. BS / B.Sc. or higher in Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry / Life Sciences, related. Any sales or formal management training is an asset.
  2. Over 5 years' experience in business development position within healthcare / biotechnology, medical device, or pharmaceutical. CRO strongly preferred.
  3. Senior (over 10 years) preferred but less experience considered.
  4. Knowledge of pharmacology, toxicology, ADME, PK / PD, testing of vaccines, biologics, small molecules, in vivo and invitro testing nice to have.
  5. Proven track record of increasing sales and growing customer base.
  6. Pertinent contact list attractive.
  7. Willingness to live in the Greater Montreal area. Relocation offered across Canada.
  8. Up to 50% overnight travel required. You would require an appropriate passport, allowing you to travel outside Canada.
  9. Driver's license.
  10. Strong, clear English communication skills, any ability to communicate in French a strong asset.
