Job Overview

The Credit Analyst I: Specialty Products role provides critical support for the adjudication, analysis, development, and customer service aspects of the company’s asset-backed finance (ABF) portfolio, including Asset Backed Line of Credit (ABLoCs), mortgages, and factoring products.

This position requires close collaboration with the Essex sales team, documentation specialists, and customers to provide customized financial solutions that align with client needs. You will be responsible for conducting financial analysis and assisting with product development while ensuring that credit applications are thoroughly reviewed and aligned with company policies. The position also lends support to Essex’s credit department through review and recommendation of standard equipment finance transactions.

This is a full-time position based at our Calgary, Alberta office. This individual will be reporting to the AVP, Credit, as part of a collaborative team. Professional growth within the organization will be encouraged.

Responsibilities

Account Administration:

  • Weekly collection and analysis of customer-supplied data.
  • Monthly review of accounts to ensure compliance and sufficient security coverage.
  • Assist senior analysts with account draw and pay down requests.
  • Support Essex Lease Financial Corporation through review and recommending standard equipment finance transactions on an as-needed basis.

Client Service and Support:

  • Provide initial contact and respond to basic customer inquiries regarding ABF products under close supervision.
  • Research and gather information to address customer concerns related to ABF products, escalating complex issues to senior analysts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer contact information within the ABF portfolio.

Data Collection and Analysis Support:

  • Assist senior analysts with data gathering and entry for market research, customer trends, and ABF product performance.
  • Learn and utilize basic data analysis tools to compile and format data reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of financial spreadsheets for ABF products.

Product Development Support:

  • Assist senior analysts with basic research tasks related to market trends and competitor offerings in the ABF space.
  • Compile and organize data for product presentations and reports.

Required Education and Experience

  • Post-Secondary Degree in relevant field: Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration preferred but not required.
  • Experience in the Equipment Finance / Leasing Industry preferred.
  • Competent in the use of MS Office Suite of products, specifically Excel.

Pay: $56,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Additional pay:

  • Bonus pay.

Schedule:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).

Experience:

  • Lease and Loan: 1 year (required).
  • Financial Statement Analysis: 1 year (required).
  • Equipment Finance: 1 year (required).
  • Finance: 1 year (required).
  • Credit Adjudication: 1 year (required).
  • Commercial Lending: 1 year (required).
