Job Description:

Structure credit for an assigned portfolio and focused on assessing credit worthiness or risk of potential customers for driving profitable business growth while adhering to TD's credit risk policies. Responsible for preparing credit reviews, approving draw requests and has responsibilities for monitoring and control.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER
  1. Support the Relationship Manager in booking new business by preparing competitive credit packages in the assigned business segment in a timely manner to meet customer needs
  2. Continually deliver exceptional customer service at every interaction and execute on plans to continuously improve the customer experience
  3. Conduct appropriate market, industry and client research and risk analysis in support of the credit development and credit submission processes where appropriate
  4. Prepare documentation in support of financial solutions for clients, including review and commentary on credit facility term sheets and timely completion of client presentations
  5. Prepare and recommend credit submissions including annual and interim client reviews
  6. Assist the AM in cross-selling the full range of products to existing and new customers, as applicable to maximize revenue/profit and retention of relationships based on the risk profile of the customer ensuring appropriate credit is earned at all times

  4. Complete business processes and procedures in a timely and accurate manner
  5. Protect the interests of the organization - identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk activities as necessary
  6. Ensure documentation that is prepared / completed is accurate and properly reflects client / business intentions and is consistent with relevant rules / regulations
  7. Ensure necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all customer transactions / activities
  8. Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
  9. Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
  10. Assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct

BREADTH & DEPTH
  1. Professional role with a focus on providing specialized business services, advisory or process / program support for own area of specialty, within defined parameters
  2. Requires sound conceptual knowledge in their own field of specialty
  3. Investigates and analyzes potential solutions; ensures processes and functional programs are implemented
  4. Executes on work with some complexity; generally requiring short to medium-term focus (weekly-monthly)
  5. Accountable for own work and effective coordination of processes and information across related teams
  6. Delivers on assigned initiatives / projects /programs with some direction from management
  7. Generally, reports to the Senior Manager, Commercial Credit role

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  1. Undergraduate degree and/or
  2. 3+ years of relevant experience
