Job description

We are seeking an experienced Communications Manager to lead and enhance our corporate internal and external communication strategies. This role will collaborate with senior leaders to develop impactful communication initiatives and report directly to the Director, Communication.

You will play a key role in employee engagement, corporate reputation management, and strategic messaging, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission and objectives.

Reporting directly to, and under the supervision of, the Director of Communications, the Communications Manager will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement internal communication strategies to foster engagement and awareness around key corporate initiatives, including Health, Safety & Environment, Operational Excellence, and Quality.
  • Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and tracking of communication initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals. Manage timelines, resources, and cross-functional collaboration to drive successful campaign outcomes.
  • Expert Advice: Act as a strategic advisor, providing communication support, coaching, and best practices to enhance messaging effectiveness.
  • Employee Engagement: Lead a team focused on strengthening internal communication, ensuring alignment with company goals and values.
  • Content Development: Create and oversee internal and external content, including presentations, newsletters, and digital content, ensuring consistency in tone and brand messaging.
  • Digital & Social Media Strategy: Oversee corporate communication channels, including the website, intranet, social media, HR marketing campaigns and strategic marketing campaigns, ensuring consistent brand representation.
  • Data & Analytics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for communication initiatives, track progress, and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, or public affairs;
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and cross-functional projects;
  • Proven ability to coach a small team, provide strategic counsel, and act as a trusted advisor to the Director of Communications;
  • Expertise in change management, employee engagement strategies, and content development;
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French (required);
  • Passion for digital communication strategies and technology-driven solutions.
