Job description

Reporting to the Manager of Marketing, the Corporate Marketing Associate plays a key role in supporting the growth, development, and administration of the port’s container, cruise, and dry and liquid bulk business lines. Additionally, they are responsible for supporting the development and implementation of marketing strategies to enhance the organization's market presence and achieve its desired business goals.

This role includes managing advertising campaigns, sponsorships, customer events, and other corporate marketing initiatives.

Major Position Accountabilities

  • Leads the coordination and execution of corporate events including trade shows, seminars, speaking engagements, conferences, and customer events, ensuring they are delivered on-time, within budget, and to the highest quality. This position will be responsible for the logistics, management of vendor relationships, coordination of internal stakeholders, and execution of events/engagements.
  • Supports developing and implementing innovative advertising campaigns across various media platforms to increase brand awareness, attract potential clients, and drive business growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across various channels.
  • Working with our Communications department, the Corporate Marketing Associate will create compelling marketing content for various channels, including social media, company website, and print materials, while ensuring consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.
  • Creates and maintains marketing dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, website traffic, and campaign effectiveness, while analyzing data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement by providing regular reports to management with actionable insights.
  • Conducts promotional market research to gather insights and trends that inform marketing strategies and tactics. Implement insights learned to inform marketing strategies and stay ahead of industry developments.
  • Identify and secure sponsorship opportunities aligning with the company's brand values and target audience and objectives. This includes evaluating sponsorship opportunities and negotiating terms to maximize value.
  • Assists the Marketing team with presentation creation and management for use in engagement with industry stakeholders including shippers, supply chain service providers, associations and other audiences.
  • Assists with the administration and updating of the organizational Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to ensure accurate and up-to-date customer information, supporting marketing efforts in targeted customer engagement, segmentation, and personalized communication strategies, ultimately supporting Marketing’s relationship management efforts.
  • Performs other related duties, as required.
Job Specifications

Formal Education

  • Post-secondary education in business administration or related.
  • An undergraduate degree, preferably in Business Administration or Commerce is an asset.
Related Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience in the supply chain or tourism sectors considered an asset.
  • Experience in event management and coordination and creating and administering advertising campaigns are considered an asset.

  • Provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 with a vaccine approved by Health Canada.

The starting base salary range for this role is $74,091 - $92,614.
