Summary:
We are seeking a full-time corporate legal assistant to join our growing legal team in our Montreal office. The candidate will collaborate and participate with internal teams and provide assistance to Canderel’s legal group.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation of various legal documents, including formatting, proofreading, and comparing and maintaining versions of documents.
- Coordinating approvals and signatures of documents.
- Filing and organizing of documents.
- Assisting with filing annual reports, registrations, and other various documents with the relevant authorities (Corporations Canada, Registraire des Entreprises, Ontario Business Registry, etc.).
- Managing invoices and billing as required.
- Updating summaries, lists, and minute book database program of the department.
- Providing administrative support on transactions and legal files.
- Performing other general administrative responsibilities and procedural tasks, such as email correspondences and communicating with the Registraire des Entreprises.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- CEGEP degree in administration or equivalent experience / Legal assistant certificate or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in a similar position.
- Excellent oral and writing skills in French and English. Please note that due to the nature of the position, a proficient level of English is required to communicate regularly with employees outside of Quebec.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Knowledge of Athennian is an asset (or experience with minute book database program).
