Job description

The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital is growing their institutional giving team and has an opportunity for a Corporate & Foundation Relations Officer. This role is responsible for developing and sustaining a vibrant portfolio of funder relationships driven by outstanding grant writing, cause marketing, special events and other corporate partnership activities. The ideal candidate will be energetic, ambitious, goal-oriented and creative, with a successful track record for building strong and productive relationships across corporate and foundation constituencies. This is a flexible work opportunity, must reside in the Greater St. Louis area.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation’s top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital’s staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Role Purpose

Responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major corporations, foundations and, when applicable, state and government grants.

Responsibilities

  1. Cultivates, solicits, and stewards major corporations, foundations and state and government grants.
  2. Serves as primary development liaison with key staff members at corporations and foundations and directs volunteer efforts to acquire resources.
  3. Develops proposals for funding of new and existing projects and programs for foundation and corporations which exhibit funding interest.
  4. Ensures proper acknowledgment, stewardship and maintenance of all assigned prospects.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Business/related

Experience

  • 5-10 years

  • 10+ years

Licenses & Certifications

  • CFRE
  • Non-Profit Admin spec training
