Postmedia is looking to hire a full-time copy editor with page design skills who has significant experience at a daily newspaper. The successful candidate will edit stories, ensuring timeliness, relevance, and creative storytelling. The candidate we are looking for is a team player and a self-starter, at ease in a deadline-oriented setting, and accustomed to fast-paced content creation. Our editor will be at ease editing features and entertainment copy but also have an affinity for pagination and print page design.

What you’ll do:

1. Ensure accuracy of display content in print products.
2. Liaise with newspapers across Postmedia to ensure content delivery matches expectations.
3. Edit copy, craft display type.
4. Build print pages in a Saxo environment.

Key attributes:

1. At least five years of experience editing a daily newspaper, preferably working in print.
2. Talent for writing clever headlines with clarity that capture the essence of a story.
3. Keen eye for print design.
4. Excellent grammar, comprehension and editing skills.
5. Strong organizational skills with good attention to detail.
6. Experience in a fast-paced daily newsroom.
7. Good interpersonal communication skills.
8. Ability to resolve conflict and solve problems.
9. Proficiency in CP style.
