Edelman Montréal is looking for an Account Executive to join the Communications team. The ideal candidate possesses practical knowledge of the business environment and ideally, brand communication and/or health communication. They will have experience in message development, media relations and influencer outreach, effective pitching to media, and understanding the integration of social media strategy and digital channels into client programs.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who is confident and dynamic, able to manage projects from day one. This person will make valuable contributions to the team by making informed decisions and providing highly informed opinions on how to realize clients' visions.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a good understanding of current events and the media landscape, and the ability to successfully implement public engagement and social media programs.
- Participate actively in brainstorming and planning sessions prior to client program development.
- Contribute to the development of communication plans and strategies, including research, defining key messages, audience and media analysis, timeline development, etc.
- Write drafts of various content, such as key messages, FAQs, media pitch notes, articles, social media posts, blog posts, press releases, and various corporate marketing content.
- Use traditional and social media monitoring tools to compile media coverage and analyze the impact of news on programs, perceptions, or client positioning.
- Assist the earned media team in pitching content to journalists across various markets, including print, broadcast, online, and social media.
- Provide client support in crisis situations and contribute to the implementation of crisis management programs.
- Demonstrate a particular interest in the business environment.
- Work within integrated teams in Montreal and nationally to ensure the quality of public relations programs and campaigns.
- Work effectively within timelines and budget parameters.
- Participate in the process of acquiring new clients, including research, verification, and proposal development.
- Recognize their own impact on others, maintain harmonious relationships internally and externally, and support fellow team members.

Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in communications or a related field.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in internal/external communications, corporate communications, or media relations.
- Bilingual, with strong writing skills in French and English.
- Experience in reputation management, crisis issues, and internal/external communications, ideally within a digital marketing, public relations, or advertising agency.
- Understanding the role of communication and PR agencies; agency experience is an asset.
- Experience in media relations is an asset, including compiling and presenting media coverage and proactive analysis of its quality.
- Experience working in a dynamic environment with multiple projects and teams.
- Desire to work as part of a team.
- Ability to coordinate media communication programs, including tours, events, and conferences, and contribute to their smooth execution.
- Knowledge of quantitative analysis and the ability to explain results in simple and intuitive terms to clients.
- Knowledge of the media landscape in Quebec and Canada.
- Experience with traditional and social media tools and platforms (online monitoring tools, blogs, Facebook, Twitter, analysis platforms, databases for building media contact lists, etc.).
- Experience effectively executing multiple strategic tasks and ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
- Strong business acumen.
