Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Coordinator to join the Volunteer Resources team at Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!

As a Coordinator, Volunteer Resources at VCH you will:

  • Collaborate with the general public, hospital staff, community groups and others to develop, plan and coordinate volunteer programs and activities.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships, conduct needs assessments, coordinate and evaluate volunteer programs.
  • Recruit and train volunteers and coordinates their deployment.
  • Act as a resource for staff who interact with volunteers and ensures compliance with organizational policies relevant to volunteers.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences plus three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check. As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections.
