Job Description

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

Join the Integral Mentorship for Inclusive Science (IMIS) project. As the IMIS Coordinator, you will play a vital role in fostering an inclusive scientific community by organizing inclusive leadership and equitable research training, mentoring activities, career development workshops, facilitating partnerships and monitoring project impact to ensure project’s objectives are met.

You will work closely with partners (Montréal InVivo, IHCT, CBHSSJB) to coordinate impactful events, monitor program success, and shape the next generation of inclusive researchers. General Duties

• Identify and propose speakers and create proposals for activities that will support the learning and development of skills and knowledge related to inclusive leadership and inclusive science.
• Research and review existing materials and resources for use in the training activities.
• Develop and coordinate a mentorship program supported by existing ones at The Institute and adapted to women and Indigenous trainees.
• Organize and facilitate regular meetings between partners to ensure proper ongoing coordination.
• Evaluate and monitor the impact of the program through feedback, reports or key performance indicators.
• Liaise and coordinate activities between the project partners and the RI-MUHC.
• Act as a point of contact for students involved in the project.
• Support the administration and awarding of knowledge mobilization scholarships and prizes.
• Support knowledge mobilization projects.
• Support project’s communication (internal and external).
• Other related activities contributing to reaching the goals of the IMSI project.

Education / Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree related to the project. Work experience in EDI and with Indigenous communities can be validated as education. Ideally, applicants will possess a master's degree (Master degree desired but not required).

Experience in project coordination and in interinstitutional environments. Experience in designing and implementing educational or career development activities. Experience in work with Indigenous students will be considered as an asset. Experience in work with women and other equity-seeking groups will be considered as an asset.

Status : Temporary Part-Time, 21 hours / week.
Pay Scale: Commensurate with qualifications and experience / $43,316.00 - $76,000.00.
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm, 3 full days per week.
