The Coordinator - Learning Services position will provide both leadership and support as part of a collaborative team. This position is responsible for guiding the implementation of mathematics curricula, supporting educators in effective planning, instruction, and assessment, and ensuring access to high-quality resources.

Responsibilities Will Include

1. Providing Division leadership for the implementation of the new Gr. 7-12 Mathematics curricula
2. Supporting Division staff in planning, instruction, assessment, and accessing resources for all Mathematics courses
3. Promoting division strategies regarding numeracy
4. Supporting teachers by providing specialist knowledge of mathematics education, curriculum advice and assistance in accessing resources
5. Leading professional learning in numeracy and mathematics
6. Using data to identify areas of excellence and opportunities for improvement in district and school results in Numeracy
7. Modelling and promoting good teaching practices
8. Coordinating professional development experiences for staff

Desirable Qualifications

1. Strong instructional leadership capabilities
2. Successful experience teaching mathematics, with a preference for candidates who have taught at the middle or high school level
3. Experience and interest in working collaboratively with colleagues to improve learning outcomes
4. Administrative experiences would be an asset but not necessary
5. Knowledge and experience in using technology to support teaching and assessment of Mathematics curricula
6. Graduate-level course work in curriculum or leadership would be an asset
7. Applicants must have or be eligible for an Alberta Professional Teaching certificate

All internal Red Deer Public Schools certificated staff from any current Teaching, Vice Principal, Principal or other positions are welcome to apply for this position.
