Job Overview: Coordinator, Knowledge Mobilization and Training

The Knowledge Mobilization and Training Coordinator, as a member of the OEIC, is responsible for supporting the development, delivery, and mobilization of high-quality resources, trainings, programs, and initiatives designed to advance the strategic priorities of the area and the University.

As an integral member of the Office of Equity and Inclusive Communities (OEIC) administrative team, the Knowledge Mobilization and Training Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to the Office. The coordinator is responsible for the scheduling and logistics of implementing training programs and workshops, acting as the link for initiatives designed and offered by the OEIC for the university community. The Coordinator also guides members of the area in conceptualizing, creating, editing, and disseminating content through various platforms and helps prepare reports, speeches, and other strategic materials. The Coordinator ensures that communications, information, and initiatives are promptly, efficiently, and reliably disseminated. They work closely with team members, as well as other units across the University, to ensure that the services and offerings meet the needs of the OEIC and KPU community.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent related experience in community engagement, and knowledge mobilization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as sociology, gender studies, English, communication studies, international relations, political science etc. preferred;
  • Formal training in EDI-related subject matter is an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of recent developments in EDI terminology;
  • Basic knowledge of graphic designing using tools such as Adobe, Canva or other tools;
  • Experience in event and program delivery and knowledge mobilization;
  • Knowledge of new technologies, content management, web pages, and social media networks;
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills;
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to effectively learn and use additional systems, including website content management systems, client database software, and online meeting platforms.
  • Experience in setting up and running events on virtual platforms, ideally including but not limited to Zoom and Teams, among others.
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve administrative issues/problems.
  • Ability to create plain-language summaries, presentations, webinars, research reports, media relations instruments.
  • Experience planning community, academic, or business events.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and adapt to changes in organizational priorities.
  • Demonstrated tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential and/or sensitive nature.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated time management skills to manage own workload as well as assist others in meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to travel between campuses is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.

Salary Information
Annual salary increases are based on hours worked and anniversary dates.
