Job description

As a Cook, you will prepare a variety of foods as ordered and assist with catering orders. You will also support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations as well as play an important role in providing customers with fast and friendly service.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of foods
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • Follow safe food handling guidelines and complete temperature log checks
  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer customer questions and ensure customers leave satisfied
  • Attend to customers in person/over the phone and resolve customer complaints
  • Assist with training, supervising, coordinating and scheduling the activities of staff
  • Review accuracy of work of staff and provide additional training and support as needed
  • Operate a till and accept payments, ensuring all prices and quantities are accurate and provide a receipt to every customer
  • Stock shelves, rotate products and assist in completing orders
  • Ensure the visual standards and image of the store are maintained, such as store displays, signage and cleanliness
  • Perform end-of-day cash reconciliation
  • Additional duties as assigned

Terms of Employment: Full-Time (40 hours/week) – May to September with possibility of extension

Wage/Salary: Starting at $18.00/hr (dependent on experience)

Benefits: After completing the 3 month probationary period, employees are eligible to sign up for our Medical & Dental Benefits and Long Term Disability. Additionally, non-probationary employees will be eligible to participate in our RRSP program.

Location of Work: Lac Seul First Nations (Kejick Bay and Frenchman’s Head)

Education: Completion of high school or equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Experience: 1 year experience working in a retail setting

Language of Work: English (Bilingual – French/English is an asset)
