Summary:

In the role of a Cook, you will be essential in preparing and serving high-quality meals while ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will utilize your core skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal preparation to create delicious dishes that delight our guests. Your experience in the food industry and restaurant settings will be invaluable as you collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain efficiency and quality. Main Duties:

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Prepare and cook special meals as instructed by chef
  • Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
  • Oversee kitchen operations
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • May set up and oversee buffets
  • May clean kitchen and work area
  • May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs and monitor and order supplies
  • May hire and train kitchen staff.

Qualifications

  • 2 years to less than 3 years experience of proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant environment
  • Secondary (high) school completion or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and handling practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced food service setting
  • Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and food industry standards
  • Excellent serving skills and customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
