PDAC 2025: The World’s Premier Mineral Exploration & Mining Convention is the leading event for people, companies and organizations connected to mineral exploration. This annual convention is known for attracting 27,000 attendees from 138 countries for its educational programming, networking events, outstanding business opportunities and fun. Since it began in 1932, the PDAC Convention has grown in size, stature and influence. Today, it is the event of choice for the world’s mineral industry hosting more than 1,100 exhibitors. PDAC 2025 will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South & North Buildings.


The Role

PDAC is looking for a Convention Assistant to support the work of the Convention Team during onsite days of the show. The Assistant will be involved in a range of operational tasks.


What you will do

  1. Assist with print signage (e.g. changing/moving easel signage and/or easels throughout the day)
  2. Stock publication bins
  3. Move/deliver onsite materials (e.g. move bankers boxes using a dolly, deliver sponsor materials to a room/booth, etc.)
  4. Bring drinks and snacks to other onsite staff
  5. Assist with other duties as required

Qualifications and experience

  1. 1-2 years’ experience in event planning and execution
  2. Customer service-focused and friendly
  3. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  4. Ability to focus on the details and follow direction
  5. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team player
  6. Position will involve lots of walking (indoors) between the North and South Buildings of the MTCC
  7. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  8. Available to start work between 5:30-6:00 am and work long hours
  9. Position will involve wearing a walkie-talkie
  10. Must have Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) certificate. Free online training here: https://www.aoda.ca/free-online-training/
