Job Description: Controller (CPA Required)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join a Client company as a Controller. This is an exciting opportunity for a CPA professional to apply their expertise while taking on a wide range of responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization and providing critical support to management. We are also open to candidates eager to apply themselves and grow into the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and manage monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements
  2. Develop financial models and assist with forecasting
  3. Compile and manage annual budgets
  4. Oversee cash flow management to ensure financial stability
  5. Interface with the board and prepare detailed financial reports
  6. Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
  7. Handle collections and ensure timely payments
  8. Oversee document control and maintain accurate financial records
  9. Create Purchase Orders (PO) and manage invoicing processes
  10. Manage inventory and assist with financial tracking of goods
  11. Prepare and review financial statements
  12. Provide general administrative support as required
  13. Manage payroll processing and ensure accuracy
  14. Assist with tax filing and ensure compliance with regulations
  15. Administer Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) filings and related tasks
  16. Support HR functions as needed
  17. Handle bank deposits and ensure timely processing
  18. Assist with any additional duties as requested by management

Qualifications:

  1. CPA designation is required
  2. Strong organizational and time-management skills
  3. Proven experience in financial management and accounting
  4. Proficiency in financial software and systems (experience preferred)
  5. Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide clear insights
  6. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
  7. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance
  8. Ability to work independently and take initiative
