Job Title: Control Systems Tester

NOC: 22310 - Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians

Location: 141 Juniper St, Ft. McMurray, AB T9K 0M8

Job Duties

1. Design and implement automation systems for both green field and brown field projects with ability to provide necessary deliverables to upgrade/migrate and expand existing systems;
2. Configuration including configuration of control strategies, interpret control narrative and configure control loops;
3. Program shutdown keys and Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs);
4. Confidently work with various brands of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems;
5. Independently carry out client-witnessed acceptance testing for software and hardware;
6. Perform loop checks and tuning;
7. Perform third-party interface testing;
8. Interface with third party products (PLCs, HMIs, OPC Clients, Historians);
9. Interface with clients;
10. Complete technical report writing;
11. Collaborate with clients and colleagues.

Terms of Employment: Full time, permanent

Wage/Salary: $41.40 per hour

Education Required: Trade, technology, or engineering certification focused on Control Systems and Electrical Engineering

Work Experience

1. Advanced knowledge and proven experience with Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley ControlLogix and FactoryTalk View both ME and SE;
2. Experience with industrial communication networks including EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, and Modbus RTU;
3. Hands-on field experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, operations, and maintenance of controls systems;
4. Experience with the following platforms is an asset:
1. Schneider Electric Modicon and EcoStrucxure Control Expert;
2. Wonderware;
3. Emerson DeltaV;
4. Honeywell C200 and/or C300;
5. Knowledge of VFDs is an asset.
