Contract Specialist

The Contract Specialist supports the contract management process at Hy-Tech. This includes drafting accurate cost estimates and detailed proposals for new work, supporting negotiations and the drafting of contract documents. We are looking to add an ambitious, well-rounded individual to carry out the following key responsibilities:

1. Support the Contract Manager and Operations Management to provide technical information and discuss drilling strategies to minimize issues and maximize program success.
2. Research potential clients' backgrounds, management teams, and financials to validate inquiries.
3. Support information gathering from Operations and various departments to gather information during the bid process.
4. Prepare cost estimates and proposals addressing client requirements and highlighting Hy-Tech's value proposition.
5. Support the negotiation of contract terms that ensure profitability for Hy-Tech.
6. Draft contract documents for awarded work.
7. Notify management when a new contract is awarded. Collaborate with Operations to prepare for pre-job meeting.
8. Create contract summaries tailored for different user groups. Communicate expectations regarding timesheet submissions with Foremen at the beginning of the job.
9. Notify the Contract Manager if scope changes are present in the timesheets. Assist with negotiating Change Order with the client.
10. Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure client needs are being met or exceeded.
11. Review timesheets daily for all jobs and approve based on contract terms.
12. Communicate with Foreman to clarify discrepancies in timesheets.
13. Help compile documentation needed for invoicing cycles and assist in preliminary invoice review.
14. Stay current with industry trends and competitive activity by attending mining conferences, participating in industry organizations and boards, and engaging with relevant community events.
15. Provide after hours contract support.
