Contract Specialist

Reporting to the Manager, Sales Contract Administration & Compliance, the Contract Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely entry and management of contracts for Concentrate and Refined Metal products, the maintenance of Customer/Vendor Master Data and related compliance and reporting requirements. Additional areas of focus may include: supporting marketing, logistics and contract planning; assisting with competitive procurement / contract opportunities for various commercial activities; contributing to special projects relating to systems enhancements and other corporate and operational priorities.

Responsibilities:

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Logistics, finance, information technology / digital services, legal and other Teck teams across multiple jurisdictions.
• Contribute to development of contract metrics and reporting systems and processes, and other strategic projects.
• Coordinate the implementation of “best practices” in contracting procedures.
• Coordinate the timely and accurate input of contracts in SAP ERP system and obtain all required SOX approvals.
• Act as an SAP “super user” to identify, own and resolve issues with information technology / digital services team members.
• Document and detail the contract administration and master data processes for SOX, ISO, and effective training.
• Facilitate the timely and accurate input of Master Data customer and vendor information into SAP and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
• Periodic review of CRM for document and workflow completion.
• Track shipment schedules and update contracts in SAP accordingly.
• Collaborate and cross-train with team members.
• Timely collection of required audit documents during periodic audits.
• Capture additional data requirements for Key Performance Indicator tracking.
• Provide month-end, quarter-end and year-end support.
• Provide support during tax audits, contribute to and review audit packages and related processes.
• Understand, comply with, and follow internal policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience working with customers in a B2B environment.
• A college or university degree in business, supply chain/logistics, law, engineering, or similar disciplines is preferred.
• Familiarity with commodities including copper, molybdenum, zinc, lead, specialty and precious metals or other industrial products.
• Knowledge of transportation / logistics (ocean, rail & trucking) is preferred.
• Proficient digital literacy, with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and adaptability to new systems.
• Experience with SAP, Power BI and CRM systems and functionality.
• Good knowledge and experience with data capture, entry, analysis and presentation.
• Knowledge and comprehension of sales contracts including terms and conditions, administration processes and active management thereof.
• Effective communications skills are required to manage external and internal relationships (e.g. marketing managers & specialists, accounting, logistics and customers).
• Fluency or familiarity with Spanish is an asset.

Salary Range: $91000.0 - $113000.0

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
