Contract Lab Sampling Technician

Airswift is working with one of our major clients in the Oil & Gas industry to find a Contract Lab Sampling Technician to join their team in Foster Creek, AB, Canada. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.

Summary

Perform sampling tasks throughout the plant site, field and off sites to support critical and core analysis for our operations, ensuring these samples are representative of the source. The Lab Sampling Technician will carry out routine and non-routine lab sampling of waters, sweet and sour gases and oils.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

1. Support lab operation, safety and environmental systems
2. Support stakeholders on projects, R&D and operations optimization
3. Troubleshoot plant process/sampling issues
4. Look for and lead efforts to improve processes and procedures as it relates to position
5. Carry out routine and non-routine lab sampling
6. Communicate with Operations on plant issues impacting sampling and safety
7. Ensure proper safety protocols are in place and in practice when performing duties
8. Identify issues that impact safety, environment and/or production

Education / Professional Designations / Qualifications

1. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
2. High school education, or equivalent
3. Valid driver's license with clean driving record
4. Laboratory and field experience
5. Ability to work long hours with physically demanding work, often outdoors and in the elements
