Position Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Content Claims Specialist to join our Edjuster team in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.

The role of Content Claims Specialists is a multi-faceted role, which focuses primarily in the following four key areas of Edjuster’s content claims handling operations:

  1. With a high focus on customer service, Edjuster’s Content Claims Specialist – Field acts as an intermediary between the Insurance Company's property adjusters and their policyholders, assisting with the inventory and valuations of the policyholder’s/claimant's total loss contents, which are most commonly caused by theft, water, fire, and other perils.
  2. Edjuster focuses on the accurate and timely processing of content claims, via the use of Edjuster’s claims handling methodology and its content claims processing and pricing platform – exclaim.
  3. Edjuster employees operate from their appropriately set up and equipped home-based offices and are consistently (daily/weekly basis) assigned new claim files.
  4. Edjuster’s Content Claims Specialists are responsible for recording all daily claims handling activity, with respect to hours worked/time spent per task as well as fulfilling all of their required administrative job duties.

Responsibilities

As part of this role, responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Conduct onsite visits to meet the adjusters/policyholders and other industry vendors and conduct the inventory of the total loss contents.
  2. Ensure consistent quality and turnaround of all claims in accordance with the Company’s productivity and performance standards.
  3. Work with the support of other teams at Edjuster to organize/direct the resources required for completing the inventory and LKQ valuation of all total loss contents in an efficient and effective manner per productivity standards.
  4. Adhere to Edjuster Inc.’s commitment to timely and informative updates on the content claims process to adjusters/policyholders.
  5. Complete/submit detailed work/time logs daily, for all claim tasks completed.
  6. Maintain claim-related notes in the Company’s platform exclaim, related to various tasks involved in handling the claim.
  7. Ensure timely and accurate completion/pricing of all outstanding items, which have not been priced via other teams, adhering to Like, Kind and Quality (LKQ) standards.
  8. Consistently promote Edjuster’s brand, image, and reputation in a professional and positive manner.
  9. May be exposed to diverse conditions (cold, heat, rain, debris, etc.).

Requirements

  1. A Secondary School diploma.
  2. Ability to work independently in most circumstances, with minimal supervision.
  3. Some prior background/experience in the Property claims industry would be considered an asset.
  4. Be able to provide an adequate workspace, free of noise.
  5. Employee must provide their own high-speed internet service.
  6. Company equipment including a laptop will be provided. It is the employee’s responsibility to care and maintain the equipment, as per policy.
  7. Own vehicle and valid driver’s license.
  8. Occasional overnight travel may be required; any business-related expense would be covered by Edjuster.
  9. Strong computer skills (MS Office/Outlook, etc.).
  10. Strong communication skills.
  11. Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and new technology.
  12. Willingness to learn and continuously improve.
