Container Transport Planner

Job Description

Container Transport Planner - Southampton - Up to £40,000

Our client, who is a recognized transport company, is looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join their team in Southampton, UK.

As Transport Planner, you will be experienced in dealing with containers and routing company-owned vehicles UK-wide.

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday (1 in 4 Saturdays)

Salary: Up to £40,000

The Role:

1. Routing company-owned vehicles
2. Plan routes as cost-effectively as possible
3. Plan routes in line with WTD and Drivers Hours
4. Ensure all customers are kept up to date
5. Complete all necessary admin
6. Work with the Manager to ensure that all vehicles are in compliance with company standards
7. Perform and correctly implement General Administration, e.g., costing, agreeing charge rates with contractors, queries in accordance with the company's requirements.

Requirements:

1. Extensive transport route planning skills
2. Container experience, but a planning background with a transport company would be considered
3. Excellent geographical knowledge
4. Strong communication skills
