The Emergency Departments at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital, which span two distinct acute hospital sites, are currently undergoing exciting development initiatives, including the implementation of a novel system of integrated emergency care and a system-wide approach to Frailty and Acute Medicine, which boasts one of the nation's most successful frailty services (Frailty CQUIN 2023).

The job plan is anticipated to contain 10 programmed activities per week. The Supporting Professional Activity shall be agreed at individual job planning. A minimum of 1.5 SPA is granted to start with, and additional SPA activity shall be made up by supervision of trainees, non-trainees, ACP's and Physician Associates.
You will be joining the consultant on call rota of 1:8, expected to cover for colleagues' absence from duty on the basis of mutually agreed arrangements with the Department and Employing Trust.
Your main goal will be to deliver clinical assessment, treatment and supervision to all patients' care requirements attending the Emergency Department until onward referral and discharge.
As an experienced consultant, you will provide clinical leadership and supervision for junior medical and nursing staff within the department. You will ensure adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of patients, to be able to contact them when necessary, and to observe the current local arrangements for advising details of leave.
