As a Senior Financial Risk Technical Consultant
You Will…
Be responsible to work with the project manager to implement risk solutions for energy companies. You must have a strong financial background with a focus on mathematical modeling and economics.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Understand and translate client's business requirements into workable technical solutions.
- Participate in application design and architecture.
- Plan and develop core application components.
- Complete all levels of application testing and QA.
- Prepare all required documentation (specifications, design, system, training, user).
- Install and configure our client’s Platform technology and solutions.
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge in industry business and technology solutions, through self-motivated approach to continuous learning.
- Provide presentations, internally and/or with clients, as required.
- Mentor other consultants as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
You Have…
- 2 or more years experience in financial mathematical modeling and statistics (econometrics).
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, or related discipline (Master's Degree in Economics preferred).
Nice to Have:
- Working knowledge of GUI technologies based on Java and .Net (Microsoft). Designs and authors help screens, menus, indices to ensure ease-of-use and consistency.
- Experience using relational database technology such as DB2 or Oracle.
- Professional Risk Manager (PRM) certification (or in process) through PRMIA.
- Experience with software design methodologies.
- Experience with BI tools and technologies.
- Working knowledge of GUI technologies.
- Experience with testing and validation techniques in software engineering.
Travel and Location:
- Ability to travel internationally approximately 50% of the time as this is mainly an external client-facing role. Other work will be done onsite at the Calgary office.
- Although ideally located in Calgary, our client will consider relocating the incumbent for this role.
