Responsibilities
- Operating AFL owned equipment, such as Vibratory plow and H-Vac.
- Training other team members on how to operate excavation equipment.
- NSC driver – Hauling/towing trailer, loading/unloading equipment to job sites.
- Installation of pathways and drops.
- Conducting safety training to ensure all sites are following protocol for locates and appropriate guidelines for safe excavation/installation.
- Calling locates and checking locates with AFL owned equipment pre-installation.
- Project setup, as instructed by Construction manager in a new warehouse.
- Submitting production reports, providing daily accurate information.
- Providing field updates to admin/management regarding region updates when day 7 SLA orders are due.
- Conducting site inspections as requested by OHS/Management.
- Assisting the materials team and ensuring stock levels in the yard are maintained.
- Providing unparalleled customer service excellence.
- Using ladders or bucket trucks to access aerial locations.
- Accessing Fiber Optic Terminals to connect cables.
- Adhering to existing practices and standards to ensure consistent quality.
- Operating equipment and vehicle in a safe manner.
- Ensuring vehicle and test equipment are maintained in excellent working condition.
- Troubleshooting technical issues swiftly and accurately.
- Working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Working in enclosed spaces and aloft.
- Performing other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Enhancing organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment.
- Adhering to and promoting the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.
- Completing training on the following aspects: First aid, Bucket Truck, NSC, Confined Space, Spurs, Ground Disturbance.

Qualifications
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience in the telecom industry.
- Strong mechanical and analytical ability.
- Ability to perform fine, precise work with hands.
- Must be able to work at heights of 30 feet.
- Ability to manage a physically demanding workload.
- Proficient in operating hand and power tools, and test equipment.
- Normal color vision to work with color-coded wiring.
Working Conditions
- Physically demanding workload.
- Work in locations that preclude the ability to return home.
- Shift work (Weekend work is part of shift rotation).
- Traveling is required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous Telecommunication / OSP experience is an asset.
