Alberco Construction Ltd, leaders in bridge and water infrastructure construction, is accepting applications for a Site Superintendent for projects in Red Deer, Edmonton, and North-Central Alberta, for 2025 start dates.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of concrete infrastructure construction processes and methodologies.
General Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Willingness to do out-of-town projects
- Proficient management of all aspects of construction site activities including project planning, scheduling, cost control, and ordering materials
- Supervise daily operations and labor on construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and laborers to ensure project milestones are met
- Review schematics and blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements
- Utilize construction management software
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality control measures
- Manage project budgets, including estimating costs and controlling expenses throughout the project lifecycle
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, consultants, architects, engineers, and team members, regarding project status and any issues that arise
- Ensure the health and safety program is followed on site
- Prepare timely reports as required on project progress, challenges, and solutions for upper management review
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry
- Minimum of 5 years in the role of supervising concrete formwork projects
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations. Experience in Bridges and Overpasses, Water and Wastewater building infrastructure, or general heavy civil concrete work
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics; familiarity with construction best practices
- Competent using computers and construction management software
- Experience with quality control measures to ensure high standards of workmanship
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and resolve conflicts effectively. Ability to lead and work as part of a team - inspire teamwork. Ability to create an equitable, diverse, and inclusive work environment
- Ability to receive feedback gracefully and give feedback effectively
