Job Summary

UMG Construction is seeking an experienced Business Interiors Construction Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of commercial interior projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and on-site coordination, ensuring all aspects of construction align with UMG's high standards of quality and efficiency. This role requires a proactive and organized leader who can communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members, ensuring each project is completed on time, within scope, and under budget.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Project Planning and Development
    • Collaborate with clients to understand project goals, scope, and design requirements.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, milestones, and budget forecasts.
    • Identify project resources and assign tasks to the construction team, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  2. Budget and Financial Management
    • Establish and manage budgets, providing accurate estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
    • Track project expenses and variances, proactively addressing cost issues.
    • Prepare and submit regular financial reports to stakeholders.
  3. Coordination and Communication
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing regular project updates.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure project designs align with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
    • Facilitate communication between team members, contractors, and vendors to resolve any project-related issues efficiently.
  4. On-Site Management
    • Monitor and enforce construction timelines, quality control measures, and workflow efficiency.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to address any issues proactively and ensure project progress aligns with goals.
    • Conduct regular onsite meetings with all relevant stakeholders to review meeting minutes and general project progression.
  5. Quality Control and Compliance
    • Ensure all project components meet UMG’s quality standards and client specifications.
    • Stay up to date with industry codes and regulations, ensuring project compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
    • Conduct post-completion evaluations to assess project success and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically in commercial interiors or related construction projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project).
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and project financial management.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, permitting, and regulations.
