Job description

At Hudson Pacific Properties, we provide best-in-class office space to the biggest names in tech and media (i.e., Netflix & Amazon), and we're seeking a Construction Project Manager to support our premier Bentall Centre property in Vancouver. Oversees planning, design, scheduling, budgeting, contract administration and management for various projects. These projects will include building renovations, capital improvements, tenant improvements, and repair and maintenance of existing properties, all while keeping the project within budget. The Construction Project Manager will manage these projects from start to completion, with full budgetary and schedule responsibility.

What You'll Do

  1. Independently manage capital expenditure or office improvements projects from initial budgeting through closeout. Responsible for all aspects of project delivery, with full budgetary and schedule responsibility.
  2. Oversee General Contractors, consultants, and subcontractors. Confer with tenants, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction issues.
  3. Review architectural, MEP, and other drawings submitted for both Landlord and tenant build projects.
  4. Mastery of financial management to create, update, and analyze detailed budget and cash flow reports.
  5. Assist Leasing Department with pricing, negotiations, and any other construction issues and consult on pending lease deals.
  6. Inspect and review projects to ensure compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations and obtain all necessary permits and licenses.
  7. Negotiate with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  8. Ensure client satisfaction by providing prompt follow-up on projects, work orders for maintenance, and meeting regularly with property managers or facility managers.
  9. Update project reports with project status and schedule on a weekly basis. Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in architecture, engineering, construction management or some related field preferred.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of general contractor or project management related experience in an architectural or general contractor firm focused on office tenant construction projects.
  3. Ability to review architectural, MEP, and other drawings submitted for both Landlord and tenant build projects.
  4. Demonstrated working knowledge of computers and software including MS Windows, MS Projects, Word, PowerPoint. Advanced proficiency in using Excel.
  5. Thorough technical knowledge of all aspects of commercial office building construction and strong working knowledge of Canadian Construction Code and VBBL required.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both writing and verbal are essential to collaborate with tenants, leasing, property management, engineering and executives.
  7. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities while staying focused and meeting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
  8. Ability to multi-task, attentive to detail, with excellent follow-up skills.
  9. Ability to adapt to changing environment and perform in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

Salary Range

$110,000.00 to $140,000.00 annually CAD (subject to relevant experience).
