Construction Project Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise Construction Inspectors providing mentorship and oversight to ensure project goals are met.
• Interpret contract drawings, specifications, and standards providing guidance to stakeholders and team members.
• Conduct periodic inspections to verify compliance with project requirements and safety protocols.
• Prepare and manage progress reports, payment certifications, and claims ensuring transparency and accuracy.
• Review and analyze contractor schedules providing insights to keep projects on track.
• Actively resolve challenges, recommend mitigation strategies, and oversee adjustments to project plans as needed.
• Foster compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across all phases of the project.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• University degree or College diploma in Civil Engineering;
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications;
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook); familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D would be considered an asset;
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills;
• Demonstrated willingness to learn;
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
• Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance;
• Ability to work flexible schedules and travel to site locations within the area;

EXPERIENCE

• Registered as P. Eng. with PEO or RCCA with OACETT;
• Completion of MTO T131 Advanced Claims Dispute Resolution course;
• Demonstrated experience as a Contract Administrator, Resident Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, or Assistant supporting these roles on at least two (2) previous projects;
• 5 years experience in structural, watermain, asphalt, and/or grade construction on road and/or bridge construction projects.
