The Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead project teams and ensure the successful completion of our construction projects. This position will be in our Abbotsford office. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, proactive leader with a strong track record in managing construction projects from conception through to completion. You will work closely with the Superintendent throughout the construction process, with a strong focus on quality, schedule management and budget accuracy. You will leverage your excellent communication and people skills to develop successful relationships with clients, consultants, architects, and sub-contractors. You will be a hands-on leader, with the ability to get results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, oversee, and deliver construction projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Early review of project drawings for constructability, value engineering, coordination, and quality assurance.
  • Budget development, maintenance, and forecasting.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of project teams, contractors, and consultants.
  • Manage negotiations for post tender process for selection of contractors and sub-trades.
  • Coordinate contract changes, site instructions, requests for information, subtrade shop drawings.
  • Enforce contractual responsibilities and resolve disputes when they occur.
  • Evaluate and approve construction methods.
  • Perform detailed cost reviews of resources, ensuring project profitability.
  • Visit project site on regular basis to conduct site inspection for quality control and ensure project deliverables are on schedules.
  • Work with the Superintendent and the Safety team to ensure the Company’s Health and Safety Program is adhered to.
  • Ensuring all project documentation/correspondence and records are properly managed and maintained.
  • Prepare and present project reports and updates to senior management and clients.
  • Act as primary point of contact for all project stakeholders.
  • Manage close-out of project effectively.
  • Supervise, mentor, coach, and train project personnel to promote a team atmosphere.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years of construction management experience.
  • Multi Family project experience is an asset but not required.
  • Experience with Commercial and Institutional Construction projects.
  • Experience developing and managing project schedules.
  • Effective communicator with a skill at building relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Confidentiality and discretion.
  • Outgoing and professional attitude.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $90,000.00-$140,000.00 per year

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

  • Project management: 5 years (required)

  • Driving Licence (required)
