Katie Lam MP is looking to recruit a team member to help with casework and local management.
Weald of Kent Conservatives are looking for 20 to 25% of a full-time position, to be spread flexibly across the week and across the year (for example, more time will be needed when elections take place), to sit alongside the role in Katie’s office.
Responsibilities:
Constituency Support for Katie Lam MP
- Monitor opportunities for visits, arrange visits, support on the day.
- Support Katie to manage relationships with local stakeholders.
- Manage constituency activity and events.
- Manage hyperlocal media (including parish magazines and village Facebook groups).
Casework for Katie Lam MP
- Respond to incoming requests for help, arrange and attend surgeries, work to resolve cases.
Office Support for Weald of Kent Conservatives
- Handle incoming communications.
- Support the Deputy Chair Political to field local government candidates, organise campaigning, produce and distribute campaign literature.
- Support the Deputy Chair Membership to build membership, check new membership requests, maintain records and resolve any issues.
- Support the Treasurer and the Deputy Chair Events and Fundraising to maintain accounts, produce and execute a fundraising strategy and organise events.
- Support the Communications Officer to send mailings to members, maintain a social media presence, and send a members’ newsletter.
- Manage administration, arranging and minuting meetings, sending out notices, capturing data, maintaining compliance, and registering donations.
- Oversee party-political incumbency work for the MP, County and Borough Councillors.
Criteria:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with people from all backgrounds.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
- Determined and persistent in getting responses and the best outcomes for constituents.
- Knowledge of simple graphic design and desktop publishing.
- Experience of political campaigning.
- Solid working proficiency in MS Office.
- Driver with car.
- Committed to the aims and values of the Conservative Party.
