What you’ll do:- The successful candidate will provide engineering support for product development activities in terms of component selection and sourcing of critical parts. A wide range of experience is required to be successful in this role from electrical, electronic, and electromechanical parts for a wide range of industries such as industrial, medical, military, and space.
- Evaluate board-mount and other components for product suitability for high reliability applications.
- Perform second-sourcing, cost reduction, and other sustaining engineering activities.
- Interact closely with supply chain and contract manufacturers to ensure product compliance and quality.
- Test components and sub-assemblies as needed to validate performance.
- Respond to internal technical inquiries on released products.
- Review and manage supply chain issues between vendors and contract manufacturers.
- Participate in internal EE related processes reviews & provide guidance/training to internal employees and customers about EEE requirements.
- Provide support to design engineers regarding component selection based on heritage, quality, and reliability requirements of programs/customers.
What you MUST have to get the job done:- Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Physics or related field.
- Postgraduate degree is an asset.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
What will make us REALLY love you:- Familiarity with space industry processes and challenges in terms of qualification and testing.
- Familiarity with EEE component quality controls and reliability standards.
- Familiarity with SEM, EDX, and other EE inspection techniques.
