Our office in Airdrie, Alberta is currently seeking a sales representative to solicit new business from the electronics manufacturing industry. The Sales Representative is responsible for selling the company’s Compliance and Testing services. The Sales Representative will reach or exceed business targets through telephone sales, trade shows, visits to customers, etc. This individual will also develop phone based revenue generation through the creation of sales leads, initiation of prospect calls, and establishment of ongoing rapport with existing and potential customers. Integrity, vision, and tenacity are essential for this role.

Job Duties

  1. Call prospects
  2. Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base
  3. Identify decision makers within targeted leads to begin sales process
  4. Strengthen existing customer base through follow-up calls and email cross sell and upsell
  5. Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects
  6. Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales
  7. Collaborate with Management to determine necessary strategic sales approaches
  8. Coordinate customer scheduling as necessary
  9. Set up and deliver sales presentations and other sales actions
  10. Provide professional presentations of Company services while onsite
  11. Create quotation responses to potential clients in a timely and comprehensive manner
  12. Coordinate and support marketing efforts for trade shows, exhibits, and other events
  13. Follow up on business opportunities.
  14. Prepare reports for sales and marketing and maintain accurate expense accounts.
  15. Use marketing data to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency.
  16. Enhance up-to-date knowledge on new products, procedures, services, and tools by attending departmental and training meetings.
  17. Identify and qualify prospective customers through research, networking, and cold-calling.
  18. Liaise between the Company and the customers for up-to-date pricing and services.
  19. Schedule appointments and meet existing customers in order to identify and qualify potential prospects and present current product offers.
  20. Effective planning to conduct sales presentations by meeting customers physically.

Requirements

  1. University or college degree in Electronics / Physics, Marketing, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  2. 2 to 3 years of direct work experience in a sales or telesales capacity
  3. Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
  4. Maintaining professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the Company in a positive manner.
  5. Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills
  6. Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
  7. Able to perform unit conversion (SI, Imperial) and basic Physics calculations (F=ma, V=RI,...)
  8. Ability to travel and attend sales events or exhibits
  9. Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  10. High level of integrity and work ethic
  11. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word (2003 or 2010)
  12. Experience with VBA programming is a major asset

Working Conditions

  1. Travel to meet customers and attend trade shows is required
  2. Ability to attend and conduct presentations
  3. Required to use computer and peripherals with Windows operating system
  4. Overtime as required
