Competition #25-30 Infant Developmental Consultant- Full Time - Timmins

The Cochrane Temiskaming Resource Centre (CTRC) is seeking a Development Consultant to join its team in Timmins; however, travel to other service communities may be required.

CTRC is a regional Developmental Services provider offering programs across the Districts of Temiskaming and Cochrane, including coastal communities along James and Hudson Bay. The successful candidate will be part of the Infant Development Program. The duties include intake for new referrals and consulting with the Supervisor; performing home and infant evaluations/screens through observation, administration, scoring and interpretation of the necessary developmental tests; developing and implementing individual plans for clients; working with families and educating them in early home-based intervention strategies; assisting families in understanding their child’s abilities, needs, behaviours and planning for their child’s future needs.

Developmental Consultants will also work consultatively with other service agencies and providers, including Early Years Services, Community Living Associations, Schools and School Boards, Hospitals, and any other community-based services part of the support network for individuals receiving services from CTRC.

Permanent Full-Time employees are offered a defined pension plan with the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) and are enrolled from the hire date. Flexible work schedules are offered, and vacation is as per the Collective Agreement provisions.

Wage: $29.48 - $32.83 Hours of Work: 75 hours/2 weeks

The successful candidate will possess a four-year degree in a related discipline (e.g., Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Occupational Therapy) with an emphasis on child development and assessment or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Ability to relate to clients with diverse backgrounds; ability to assume professional responsibility and keep the Supervisor informed; ability to prepare clear and concise written reports; good communication skills; ability to facilitate various training modules regarding parenting skills and child management programs. Ability to operate a computer and various software programs. Willingness to travel and the use of a car is essential. Must be bilingual. All applicants must be double vaccinated against COVID-19.
