Brief description of the project:
Thompson Rivers University, Open Learning (TRU-OL) is looking for a qualified content expert/curriculum developer to complete a major revision of COMP 3411: Operating Systems.
Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to provide students basic knowledge of operating systems, the difference between the kernel and user modes, concepts of application program interfaces, methods and implementations of interrupts. Students are introduced to the schedulers, policies, processes, threads, memory management, virtual memory, protection, access control, and authentication. Students learn system calls in different popular operating systems used in the industry.
Course Development Process:
The course developer will work under the guidance of the Instructional Designer responsible for the course development project, and in collaboration with the course development team will:
TRU-OL uses a collaborative approach to course development that involves interactive planning meetings and review sessions as needed.
