Title: Community Health Nurse

Salary: $94,724 - $114,261 per year (pay range explained below)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Casual hours

Location: Various Locations throughout BC – must have your Remote Certification (RNC)

Bargaining Unit: PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada)

About The Role
As the Community Health Nurse, you will work in an expanded scope of practice to provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care for First Nations individuals, families, and communities, including after hours on-call care. You will work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. You will travel to various remote communities across the province.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have / be:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Must be or working towards Remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM.
  • Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP).
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license.
  • An understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols.
  • Knowledge of nursing processes.

You may have experience in:
  • Experience in primary care, disease and injury prevention, health protection, curative, urgent and emergent care, rehabilitation and supportive or palliative care.

As a casual member of the team, you will receive the following premium:
  • A Casual employee will not be entitled to the Employer’s benefit plan, vacation or designated holidays and will instead be paid a premium of 13% for all straight time hours worked.
