Job: Full-time (35 – 40 hrs. a week)

Salary: $58,240 to $66,560

Reports to: Executive Director

Benefits: Upon successful completion of the 3-month probationary period

Job Opportunity:

The Community Giving & Event Coordinator is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to increase community engagement and build donor relationships through the coordination of the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation events and programs. The Community Giving and Event Coordinator will proactively increase the revenue generated by the Foundation. The focus of this role is three-fold: community giving development and management, event coordination and management, and communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify, cultivate, and solicit private and corporate donors to support the Foundation’s mission and events.
  2. Plan, organize, attend, and evaluate Foundation events, programs, and campaigns, including development, budget management, and execution of events.
  3. Support and cultivate community third-party events hosted in honor of the Foundation.
  4. Represent the Foundation in public and respond, in consultation with the Executive Director, to media or public questions.
  5. Steward positive relationships with donors, sponsors, media, event participants, hospital staff, and the public.
  6. Develop tailored proposals and write grant applications to apply for funding to support the work of the Foundation.
  7. Develop and grow a volunteer base for Foundation events.
  8. Develop and grow the Foundation’s storytelling through donors, patients, and the work of the Foundation.
  9. Write and edit engaging content for press releases, newsletters, and direct mail campaigns.
  10. Perform administrative tasks including donor management and documentation of events.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  2. Self-motivated and driven to improve processes and procedures.
  3. Experience in fundraising in a not-for-profit environment.
  4. Excellent organizational skills with an ability to multitask priorities to meet timelines.
  5. Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS 365 Office programs.
  6. Creativity, innovation, and intuition.
  7. Ability to work flexible hours as evening and weekend work is intermittently required.
  8. Ability to work in a supportive team environment and independently.
  9. Valid class 5 driver’s license with access to own vehicle.

Additional skills will be an asset:

  1. Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation.
  2. Social media management.
  3. Knowledge of gaming license applications.
  4. Knowledge in website maintenance.
