Our Community Connections Department is looking for a dedicated Manager to join the team.
Position Responsibilities
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as Community Connections Manager. This position plays a key role in enhancing community well-being while cultivating partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and internal departments. The manager will be responsible for strategic planning, community engagement, and operational excellence.
- Foster partnerships with over 200 community organizations, regional partners, and sport tourism stakeholders.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in recreation, community development, and cultural programming.
- Represent the City in public forums, community events, and advisory committees.
- Oversight of grant funding programs, contracts, and agreements.
- Lead and manage a high-performing team including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Develop and oversee department budgets, forecasts, and capital projects.
- Drive operational efficiencies, policy development, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in recreation, sport, culture, business/public administration, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years in a leadership/management role in recreation, sport, culture, or non-profit sectors.
- Strong project management and public relations skills.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement, grant management, and municipal governance preferred.
- IAP2 Certification considered an asset.
HoursThe standard workweek consists of an average of 40 hours, with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor.
CompensationStarting Salary $44.10 per hour as per the Out-of-Scope Agreement.
