Two Rivers Gallery is a vital centre for visual art, in Central and Northern BC, dedicated to lifelong learning through the arts. We believe in vigorous artistic and cultural expression and offer diverse experiences for participation through our exhibitions and programs.

Two Rivers Gallery, the centre for art and creativity in Northern BC, is hiring a Community Art Days Coordinator. The main task of the Community Art Days Coordinator will include event planning and coordination of volunteers for the summer arts celebration, Community Art Days, which will be held July 11 & 12, 2025. Community Art Days is a landmark celebration for the community of Prince George involving arts performances, activities, and will be organized under direct supervision of the Director of Learning & Engagement. The remaining time with Two Rivers Gallery will be spent as a camp leader in our summer Creativity Camps delivering arts-based programs and managing youth. The role is centered around developing leadership skills, event planning, public relations and arts education programming knowledge.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborating closely with the Learning and Engagement team and the Director of Learning & Engagement to coordinate event details and programming
- Assisting with the coordination of artists-in-residences, musical programming, and social media campaign for Community Art Days
- Developing a volunteer recruitment strategy and training program
- Overseeing management of our volunteers during our signature summer event, Community Art Days on July 11 & 12
- Delivering Creativity Camp programming, as created by the Creativity Camp Coordinator
- Working as part of the gallery team – participate in staff meetings, training and engagement
- Maintaining a safe and healthy creative environment for youth
- Fostering engagement and joy in youth exploring the visual and creative arts
- Cultivating clear and respectful communication with youth and guardians

Qualifications:

- This position is suitable for an Undergraduate or Graduate student studying Education, Fine Arts, Art History, Museum Studies or other related fields
- Experience working with children, specifically those 6-12 years of age
- Ability to collaborate and work closely with others
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fantastic organizational and administrative skills
- An interactive approach to community outreach and engagement that helps art come alive for new audiences
- Commitment to honour, engage and celebrate culture, identifying and removing barriers to participation and inclusion, fostering anti-racism initiatives, and championing diversity in the arts is an asset
- Knowledge of Indigenous ways of knowing is an asset
- First Aid Certification

Dates of Employment: May 12th-August 29th, 2025
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, 7.5 hours / day, 37.5 hours / week
Some evening and / or weekend work may be required.
Rate of pay: $17.40 / hour
