THE OPPORTUNITY:

Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for a Communications Coordinator within our Communications Department, based out of our Winnipeg, Virden, MB, or Calgary, AB office. The successful candidate will be eligible to participate in Tundra’s hybrid work schedule.

This position will be an indirect report to the Public Relations & Communications Specialist, who will offer guidance and senior level oversight to the position. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for providing internal and external communications support to the organization.

REPORTS TO: Vice President, Human Resources

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting the execution, review, and refinement of Tundra’s Internal Communications Plan in the following areas:

Internal Communications

  • Provide design and content support for employee communication needs such as engagement activities, Executive and Management communication support, & Committee communications support.
  • Draft, review, and edit corporate email content.
  • Develop Health & Safety communications materials including, but not limited to newsletters, safety alerts, and bulletins.
  • Support Tundra’s annual United Way Campaign through participation on the United Way Committee.
  • Support the development and execution of Tundra Townhall events.
  • Support the development and placement of executive announcements.

Brand Management

  • Ensure brand guidelines are current, clear, and available to employees to protect Tundra’s brand.
  • Partner with the administrative team to ensure promotional items are on brand and inventory is managed.
  • Partner with the HR team to ensure talent acquisition strategies are supported with branding materials to attract new employees.
  • Maintain corporate templates including design, implementation, and ease of use.

Photo & Video Library Management

  • Plan and capture on-site activities and events (photography for story writing/telling) that effectively promote employee engagement.
  • Arrange for corporate photography services.

Network Drive & Intranet Content Creation and Coordination

  • Assist with the management of corporate electronic files, ensuring appropriate accessibility, confidentiality, and organization.
  • Maintain SharePoint with regular design and content enhancements.
  • Provide timely updates and consistency with the provision of information.
  • Provide recommendations for new ways to engage employees.

External Communications

  • Manage Tundra’s LinkedIn page.
  • Act as backup for media relations, including media triage and coordination with Tundra’s media team.
  • Support Public Relations & Communications Specialist as required with community relations, external website updates, and sustainability initiatives.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a communications or marketing role.
  • Bachelor of Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field is required.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry, government relations is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency with:
    • Microsoft: Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint.
    • Adobe Suite: Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop.
    • Canva.
    • Slido.
    • Survey Monkey.
    • WordPress.
