Job Summary:

In collaboration with the Director of the Centre for Blood Research (CBR), the Communications and Programs Coordinator will manage branding, communications, and research programs for CBR by coordinating a variety of media projects to promote research, education, and outreach activities.

Work Performed:

  • Designs, develops, and evolves integrated communications strategies for CBR, including websites, social media, and print communications.
  • Researches, writes, edits, and produces content for various platforms.
  • Manages the development and delivery of research and educational programs.
  • Establishes partnerships for collaborative research and outreach activities.
  • Coordinates content production for the CBR blog and magazine.
  • Reviews website content for effectiveness and accuracy.
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance CBR's brand reputation.
  • Assists with CBR seminars and events.
  • Carries out other related duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness to respect diverse perspectives.
  • Commitment to enhancing awareness related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a life science degree with communications coursework.
  • Experience in life science research.
  • Excellent writing skills for various communication channels.
  • Experience in marketing, fundraising, event planning, and workshop facilitation.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
