Job Summary:
In collaboration with the Director of the Centre for Blood Research (CBR), the Communications and Programs Coordinator will manage the branding and communications and research programs for the CBR. This will be accomplished by managing, coordinating and supporting a wide variety of print, web, video, social and electronic media projects to promote the research, education, and outreach activities at the Centre.

Minimum Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum two years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
A university degree in a relevant discipline such as communications, marketing, journalism, media/public relations, or a life science degree with coursework in communications-related areas is preferred. Experience in or understanding of life science research is an asset. Excellent traditional writing and grammatical skills including proven ability to write for the web, social media, brochures, and other communications channels and to adjust writing style for different audiences. Ability to engage and motivate students is a must. Ideal but not necessary, experience in marketing or fundraising. Experience in event planning and workshop facilitation.
