The Communications and Events Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing Venn’s communications strategy and planning and supporting Venn-organized events and activities.

Who You Are

The successful Communications and Events Coordinator will be somebody who:

  1. Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  2. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  4. Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  5. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, customer relationship management (CRM) tools and social media analytics platforms.
  6. Is proficient in written and oral communication skills in English and in French.

What You’ll Do

The Communications and Events Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing Venn’s communications strategy and planning and supporting Venn-organized events and activities.

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the innovation hub’s brand, programs, and events.
  2. Manage digital marketing campaigns, including social media, email marketing, SEO, and paid advertising to increase engagement.
  3. Create and oversee the production of marketing materials, such as brochures, newsletters, presentations, and website content.
  4. Write and edit content for various platforms, including blogs, articles, press releases, social media, and newsletters.
  5. Lead marketing efforts for innovation hub events, workshops, and conferences.
  6. Develop event-specific promotional strategies, including partnerships, influencer outreach, and attendee engagement tactics.
  7. Participate in the planning and execution of events, which may require work during evenings and weekends.
  8. Act as a liaison between the hub and its various stakeholders, including startups, corporate partners, government agencies, and community members.
  9. Develop communication plans to keep stakeholders informed and engaged with hub activities.
